EcoSquared (Eco²) represents two different concepts. First, a return to ecological economics. Meaning we need to protect and participate in our local economy. When we keep money and jobs in our communities it provides a future for our children. It's good economics to protect the ecological resources of a community. Without clean water or clean air we spend money to get those resources, we need those for our tourism, farming, manufacturing, and for our children. This fair is to showcase local businesses and community leaders that are helping us create healthy communities both ecologically and economically. Economics and ecology are linked. If you don't have one you won't have the other for very long.

Second is idea and actuation of the public commons, the community square. This is where we meet our neighbors, friends, and business associates. This is where we make public connections, discover what we have in common and how we can help each other. Hopefully, this expanded aspect of our county fair will help provide for the future of our community. I hope that you want to come to the fair, see whats happening in your county, meet your neighbors - near and far - or maybe even showcase your business, your ideas. We always have a need for volunteers. We would love for your to register for a table or booth. It's only a one day commitment on the day of focus that your business or idea is most closely related.
