2008 EcoSquared

The 3rd Annual EcoSquared Fair welcomed a bunch of new and many familiar faces.

Alma "Lady of the Woods" Christensen spoke about wild edibles. Alma has also authored a wild edibles cookbook that Happy Dancing Turtle has available for purchase.

Kris Kayser, proprietor of Stone Woman Herbal, demonstrates hand care on Barb's weary hands.

Liana McCoy spoke about the benefits of honey and bee pollination to an intrigued crowd.

Bob McLean's ears are clean! At least they are now, after Kris Kayser ear candled them.

Chock-full of tips and pointers, Bonnie Hiniker of Sunshine Gardens, shared those relating to Shoreline Buffer plantings.

This boy intently eyes the example pinwheel as he colors his own. Pinwheels are a great way to demonstrate how wind "works".

Dad helps pick the stones while daughter expertly places them in her cob sculpture.

You may recognize our Tiddly Turtle board, it got some action at the fair too.

Each day the EcoSquared Building was a flurry of activity. A great many new connections were made.

Again at the "Not On A Stick" Food Booth we offered samples of the menu offerings. Did you try the Greek Salad? It was a crowd favorite!

A lucky 'Working with Natural Fibers' workshop participant got a little hand-on lesson.

Papermaking was one of a number of "Make & Take" booths. Here Quinn tries to "save" this young gentleman's gift for his grandmother (sheet of homemade paper).

You may have heard tell of our now infamous Spinner Game. After giving the reused bike tire a spin we ask an environmentally related question. Even if you answer wrong a prize still awaits you. And it's free!

Grandma borrowed The Lorax, one of the many kid's books, and spent a few minutes reading for her granddaughter. A cute sight to be sure.

Ryan Hunt, Hunt Utilities Group, spoke about Zero Energy Homes. So many people were interested in hearing him, we could have used more chairs in our presentation area.
